Eddie and Robin NYSID alum Rich Lynde and his wife Robin are now Facebook celebrities. They recently rode the LIRR to attend an Islanders game at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. When they changed trains at Jamaica, they entered a car jam-packed with New York Islander hockey fans. Jon Ledecky, a majoirity owner of the Islanders, was also on board. The owner spotted Rich, decked out in his Bryan Trottier jersey, and said hello. Rich then informed him that he and Robin were both longtime Islander fans and had attended the three final Championship games held at Nassau Colisseum when the Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cups in the early 1980s (the fourth Championship was an away game). Ledecky tried to phone Bryan, but the call went to voicemail. He then asked Robin to name her favorite Islander. Eddie Westfall, she said, the first Islanders captain. He called Eddie and Robin spoke to him for a few minutes. Some of that phone call is now on the Islanders' Facebook page. (You may need to be on Facebook to view it.) To see the video, click here
