HAPPY RETIREMENT PARTY FOR PAUL COHEN!!!!
51 YEARS!!!!

Subject: Paul Cohen’s Retirement Party: September 7, 2016

On June 10, 1965, Paul Cohen started his career in the Audit Bureau of the New York State Department of Insurance. One year later, he moved to the Property Bureau where Mr. William Gould was Chief. Until recently, Mr. Gould held the record for service with the Department at 50 years. Now, after 51 years and three months, 23 superintendents, and many Bureau Chiefs, our mentor, friend and colleague, Paul Cohen, has decided to join the Department’s alumni and begin a new phase of his life.

This new phase will include fixing things around his house and his mother-in –law’s house. His mother-in-law, Anne Timm, who just celebrated her 102nd birthday in July, makes sure Paul is kept quite busy. Paul’s wife Joy is fond of saying “there is nothing that Paul cannot fix.” He is called the handyman extraordinaire by many.

Most days, Paul keeps in shape by walking three miles. He also enjoys gardening around his home where he is often surrounded by deer, turkeys, rabbits, and chipmunks. Paul’s son Frank and daughter-in-law Bonnie travel a lot on business, and Paul enjoys nothing more than babysitting for his 7-year old grandson, Luke.

Paul and Joy like to travel. Their latest trip was to Africa this June, and now they can say that they have been to six continents: Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America and Africa. That leaves only one more to go (dress warm Paul!).
